If you want inexpensive RC sports cars to see if this is a hobby you or one that someone else might enjoy, then the 8.75” long Road Boss is what you are looking for. The RC coupe features two bucket seats ready for a passenger and driver of your choice. From the side you can view the 7-spoked aluminum-like rims with rubberized street tread on the tires. A slanted windshield makes the vehicle look sporty and fast. Details include gas tank ports on both sides, bumpers molded into the body, steering wheel, vents, glove compartment, gauges, side mirrors, and even windshield wipers. Headlights and taillights illuminate when the car is in motion. Should it veer to the right or left on the straightaway, a front-end alignment lever under the car makes the correction. A molded motor on the rear end is displayed through a 1 ¾” x 1” clear plastic viewing panel. Under the chassis the battery compartment houses a 3.6v 3-cell Ni-Cd battery (included). The cover may be clipped and screwed securely in place. An on/off switch is located behind the right front tire. The Road Boss is considered to be a full function vehicle, meaning it operates forward, backward, left, and right. To stop, just release the throttle on the transmitter. Now, clip the battery into the charger and plug in the wall socket for 2.5 hours, add 2-AA batteries to the small transmitter and you’re ready to run. The external antenna, made of flexible heavy wire, is ready to transmit a signal. The box says a 3-year-old can run this car but I would advise adult supervision because of the antenna and 3-cell battery pack, but definitely ready for five-year-olds plus without supervision.

Personally, I would rate this as a 5-star RC car. Everything stated in the description is from personal use of the sports car. Charging and running times are also recorded from personal use. My grandson and I have races on my patio after school almost every day. It’s a great bonding toy while he is learning about batteries, driving, stopping times, eye-hand coordination, and who knows what else. Enjoy! Grammy
